Founded by Caranina Bertone in 2016, our studio is dedicated to the art of craftsmanship and fine jewellery. With almost a decade of experience in the jewellery industry, Caranina prides herself on handcrafting each piece, not just to meet, but exceed custom expectations. Each creation encapsulates the personal stories and POV of our clients, reflecting the individuality and beauty of being human.

Made To Order Jewellery Personally For You

Caranina Jewellery Studio embraces slow fashion, creating made to order jewellery with personality. Our focus on design and craftsmanship ensures that each piece is a work of art that we are proud to create.  


We believe jewellery is gender fluid, and that the expression of fashion we each make should be based on comfort and personal taste. The traditional jewellery industry has a focus on “women’s” and “mens” jewellery we find boring and tiresome. We want you to wear what you want to wear.


Size inclusivity is important to us. As everything is made to order, we can accommodate a wide range of sizes to suit what fits best for you. (And are happy to size you in person if you are unsure of what your sizes may be).


Through our custom and fingerprint jewellery, we co-create with our clients to bring their sentimental jewellery pieces to life, intimately adding your personal touch to jewellery that will be cherished for a lifetime and beyond.  


For our local and Ontario clients, jewellery making workshops at Caranina Jewellery Studio offer the opportunity to glimpse into lost wax carving and behind the scenes of how jewellery is made, coming away with your own uniquely crafted piece of jewellery to treasure and show off.

Meet Caranina

Caranina is a classically trained goldsmith, working on a small production scale, bringing forward quality and intentional design to her clients and shoppers.

Through her Italian heritage, Caranina Bertone grew up surrounded by food and passion. She has been honing her creative eye from a young age, inspired by her parents' passions for photography and material arts. Attending arts university exposed her to the realm of goldsmithing and her technical training is passed along through her custom work, repairs, and workshops.

She cherishes her home and studio filled with natural light, secondhand furnishings, and fresh flowers. Caranina loves thrifting on weekends, a cozy night in reading with candlelight, and hitting the road (whether on a road trip to a new destination, locally on her bike, or attempting to learn to skateboard). She loves exploring new recipes, and the joy food brings when shared.

Questioning life with zest and curiosity, she is interested in challenging societal expectations through consumerism, anti-racism work, and our collective life purpose - all of which she aims to work through with her brand.

Caranina is a goldsmithing studio operating in Hamilton, Ontario. We humbly acknowledge our presence on the traditional territories of Anishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ, Attiwonderonk (Neutral), Haudenosaunee, Mississauga, and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation land.
